Frequently Asked Questions

We've compiled a list of common questions to help you get the most out of Swipefiled. Can't find what you're looking for? Contact us for support.

👀  What is the Facebook Ad Library?

The Facebook Ad Library is a public archive of all ads currently running on Facebook and Instagram. It provides transparency and accountability for advertisers, allowing anyone to view and search for ads by keyword, advertiser name, and other criteria.

🔗  Why Can't I Just Copy the Ad URL on Facebook?

Copying the Facebook Ad link works, until it doesn't. There is a high chance that the link will no longer work in a few days as Facebook only allows you to preview active ads.

If the advertiser has made edits to the ad or paused the ad entirely, you will be hit with a message stating the ad link has expired, leaving you, your team, and your client scratching their heads as to what the ad could have possibly looked like.

📝  What is a Swipe File?

In advertising or marketing, a swipe file is a collection of successful advertising campaigns, headlines, copy, images, or videos that can be used as a reference for creating new campaigns or ads.

A swipe file can help to spark new ideas and can be used as a source of inspiration when you hit a creative block. It's a powerful tool for marketers, designers, writers, and other creative professionals to refer to when working on new projects.

This collection can be physical or digital, and it can be organized in different ways, according to the preferences of the user. Some marketers use swipe files to store competitor's ads, while others store ads they find interesting or inspiring.

🖼️  Can you Download Ads from the Facebook Ad Library?

While you can take a screenshot of an ad, like most marketers, you may end up with more screenshots than you know what to do with.

Just take a look at your phone right now - how many screenshots of ads do you have?

With Swipefiled, you can save these ads directly to the cloud and access them whenever you like with extensive filtering options as these ads are automatically uploaded with tags such as the format, niche, advertising platform and more, which is something you wouldn't be able to do if you uploaded your screenshots to Google Drive, for example.

🤔  How Can I Make the Most out of Swipefiled?

Swipefiled offers multiple ways to streamline your work and improve your productivity.

Many of our users are either brand owners who heavily rely on social media marketing for customer acquisition or creative strategists working at a digital marketing agency, who look after other brands.

If you frequently brief content creators on UGC video ideas, you can use the boards feature to compile a list of reference videos, give it a short name and description, and share it with anyone via a public link to view.

As a visual creative at a brand or agency, you can browse through the creative inspiration tab for inspiration and find exactly what you're looking for using our extensive filtering options. It can also serve as a resource for brand and product research, by searching for a niche you want to learn more about, and you'll find a list of popular DTC brands and their social media ads.

And of course, you can also use the swipe file tab to save your own ads from Facebook and Instagram.

These are just a few examples of how our users utilize Swipefiled to streamline their workload. Why not give it a try for yourself with a 7-day free trial?
